REKONFIGURASI DUNIA KERJA DI ERA DIGITAL: TANTANGAN INDUSTRIALISASI DAN STRATEGI KEBIJAKAN KETENAGAKERJAAN

Abstract

Digital transformation has become one of the main factors driving changes in work structures, labor relations, and the direction of industrialization in various countries. Technological developments such as artificial intelligence, automation, big data, and digital platforms have not only improved production efficiency, but also triggered changes in the organization of work and labor market dynamics. This research aims to analyze how digitalization reconfigures the world of work and examine the challenges of industrialization and labor policy strategies in the face of digital economic transformation. This research uses a qualitative approach with a literature study method through the analysis of various academic literature, reports of international institutions, and policy documents related to digitalization and employment. The results of the study show that digitalization does not solely eliminate human work, but rather changes the structure of tasks and skills needed in a job. This process is characterized by three main dynamics, namely changes in the composition of labor skills, the emergence of digital platform-based work models, and the increasing need for more adaptive labor policies. In the context of developing countries, digital transformation also presents challenges related to the workforce skills gap, platform worker protection, and digital infrastructure readiness. Therefore, industrialization policies in the digital era need to be integrated with human resource development strategies, strengthening social protection systems, and employment regulatory frameworks that are able to respond to the dynamics of the digital economy in a more inclusive and sustainable manner.
